Big Words
I'm reading a book about hitchhiking called Riding with Strangers: A Hitchhiker's Journey by Elijah Wald. I can't tell you the page because I'm reading it on my Kindle PC, but somewheres about 75% of the way through the book he uses the word lagniappe.
I've noticed a lot of my entries lately have the tag 'anger.' I used to say, when asked what religion I would choose if I was interested in choosing one at all, that I'd be Taoist. The reason is simple: when my philosophy of religion professor taught the lesson on Taoism, it was fifteen minutes long and at the end he summed it up by saying, "Go outside and contemplate the universe. And hug a tree." Sounds good and simple, if you ask me. Anger and Taoism, however, don't seem to go hand-in-hand, so maybe I need to figure out how to get back to that shady spot on the university lawn, back to watching the clouds and leaning against a tree, "back to where I once belonged."
Lady, you are durrranged.
